As usual, comments welcome!

I didn't actually intend to finish this all today, but I kind of got enthusiastic. It's Matthew Swift of A Madness of Angels and subsequent books by Kate Griffin.

I am ~in love~ with this series, but I can't convince anyone to read it - possibly because you don't fully find out why Matthew is such a super interesting character until halfway through the first book, and I never want to spoil it, so I keep saying 'just read it' to people. Seriously - not just another bland urban fantasy novel. C:

Read it, then come talk to me about how awesome it is. c:

(In other news, I'm actually really pleased with how this turned out!)

It is incredible how little attention such a fantastically written and developed world has received. The character and plot development is simply astounding, and I could sing the praises of Kate Griffin's prosaic style for quite a few pixels. It's refreshing to see a visual interpretation of Matthew, as well!

Thank you! I absolutely agree, these books are amazing - they're really fresh perspective on the genre, and the characterization is so fun! I couldn't resist painting Matthew x)

Thank you! I love these books too - it's too bad there isn't a bigger fanbase! I'd love to see more art from them.

This is brilliant, I have been in love with the world of Matthew Swift since i first read it in sixth form, I adore the world, based a large chunk of my dissertation on the series and have been forcing it on as many people as possible, it is good to see Matthew drawn up.

Glad you like it! I wish there were more fan art of the series out there, it's just fantastic. I'd love to see one of those artists who are good at creatures conceptualize something like the litterbug from the first book. c:

that or the bin man from the midnight Mayor. Have you gotten around to reading Stray Souls yet? because that is rather fun. There are a load of really fun characters in that book and it is nice to see Matthew from an outside perspective. I really like your art style, and it is good to see something fan art-y for Matthew he deserves it. Kind of want to see stuff for the other characters you interact with like Bakker, Vera, San Khay and stuff like that. If only because the imagary is really good. though still waiting for fan art from the Alex Verus series by Benedict Jacka because i really like that one too.

San Khay would be a lot of fun to draw! And yes, I've read Stray Souls, and I'm just trying to figure out exactly what kind of purple boots to feature in my fan art x) Short or tall? Cowboy or velvet? Leather or pleather?

Hmm, I haven't read that one, but maybe I should check it out...
