So I'm looking at my page, and it has this 'commissions closed' journal entry that's from a year and a half ago - yikes! It's been a busy life for a while now, but that's only half the story on why I've been off the commission train for so long. The other half is that I realised I'd been seriously underpaying myself when charging for commissions. I was finding myself spending close to ten hours on a piece I was charging ten dollars for, and that's just silly.

I guess the point here is - I've been thinking for a while that I'd like to start taking commissions again; I just don't know if there's still interest, and if there is, what to do about prices. I was considering hiking them and then putting a time limit on myself so I don't end up with dollar-an-hour wages.

Is there any interest? Do people read this thing? What if I charged, like, $20 bucks for a cartoony full body drawing (like so: amytaluuri.deviantart.com/art/… ) and $25 bucks for a painted bust (like so; amytaluuri.deviantart.com/art/… ) ?

Or something?

While I'm figuring that out, let's just say that I'm open to made-to-order commissions where we discuss what you want arted and negotiate a one-off price. If there's any demand for such a thing, you can drop me a line and we'll see if we can find something we both consider reasonable!

Commissions closed for the time being.

(I am working in a toy store and it's almost Christmas.)

Edit: Eek, already filled up again! Don't worry, hopefully this time I should get through them more quickly... fingers crossed...



So here's the deal! I am starting up CHEAP COMMISSIONS because I am poor and like doing art. They will only cost $10 (gasp!) so you should totally jump on this. I will do:

a) Simple, more painterly busts and headshots, like this or this.

OR

b) Cartoonier, more line-art-y full body poses like this or this.

I'm much better at original characters (your own characters or those of your friends) than I am at fandom stuff, but I'm willing to make the attempt. Just drop me a note and we can discuss what you want!


I am only going to do three at a time.
